The Show Them Project

Show Them Today. Shape Tomorrow.

The Show Them Project is a bold, lived-experience-led awareness, prevention and personal-development initiative, delivering a raw and powerful message through the extraordinary life experiences of its founder, Mark Bragg. Designed to engage people rather than lecture them, The Show Them Project is an adaptable approach that can work across schools, further and higher education, sport, custodial settings and community organisations — using lived experience to encourage reflection, challenge thinking and help people make informed and educated choices for themselves in their own lives.

Through interactive sessions, honest storytelling and our very own educational follow on programme Keep Showing Up, The Show Them Project challenges people to reflect on the choices they make, the influences around them, how we treat one another and how even the smallest decision can shape the course of a life.

We visually journey through the life of Mark Bragg — an unflinching look at the highs and devastating lows. From a failed dream career in the military that was cut short before it even began, a long successful career in personal protection for international music artists, footballers and celebrities, to the stark reality of bankruptcy, secure psychiatric units, addiction and homelessness. This is not theory — it's lived experience.

“Addiction cost me everything I loved most in the world.”

— Mark Bragg

A New Purpose

From Mark's recovery came a new purpose — to use his story and lived experience to help prevent others from reaching the same darkness.

His vision has since grown beyond the original awareness workshops. A powerful conversation can make an immediate impression, but meaningful learning needs opportunities to revisit what we have heard, reflect on our own experiences and put that understanding into practice.

That thinking led Mark to develop Keep Showing Up — an adaptable programme of structured reflection, personal development and follow-up evaluation, designed to continue the learning beyond the initial intervention.

From Reflection to Measurable Impact

Meaningful education should be measurable.

An important part of The Show Them Project and Keep Showing Up is understanding the impact our work is having on the people we engage with.

Through structured, anonymous feedback and evaluation, we gather insight into what participants have taken from the experience, how it has influenced their thinking and the areas that have resonated most strongly with them.

This information is analysed to produce a detailed, tailored impact report for each organisation we work with, giving them meaningful insight into the responses, outcomes and key themes emerging from their participants — while protecting individual anonymity.

The analysis is equally important to us. It allows us to look closely at what is working, where we can improve and how our programmes can continue to evolve for different people and environments.

It means our work doesn't simply end when an intervention or programme finishes. We listen, we learn, we measure and we continually improve.

The Show Them Project Intervention

The Show Them Project is designed to reach and engage people at scale, delivering a powerful lived-experience-led intervention that can be adapted to different audiences and environments.

This isn’t a traditional presentation or a lecture telling people what they should and shouldn’t do. Mark uses the reality of his own life to explore choices and consequences, substance use and addiction, peer influence, resilience, mental health, aspirations and the importance of seeking support.

The intervention is honest, engaging and thought-provoking, giving participants the opportunity to see where choices can lead through somebody who has lived those consequences himself — and encouraging them to reflect on their own lives and the choices they make.

But the initial intervention is only the beginning.

Through Keep Showing Up, the conversation continues, giving participants structured opportunities to revisit the themes, reflect on their own experiences and choices, and continue their personal development with increased engagement over time.

This approach allows The Show Them Project to reach more people with the initial message, while creating greater depth through the structured reflection and follow-on programme that comes afterwards.

Beyond the workshop

The Show Them Project is a drugs prevention and personal development programme that offers a 12-week course — the Reflection Journal — reinforcing what students heard in the room long after the session ends.
